The pharyngeal plexus is a mixed neural plexus, providing motor, sensory, and sympathetic innervation to the majority of the pharynx. Branchial motor innervation comes from vagus nerve fibers. These innervate all the muscles of the pharynx, except the stylopharyngeus muscle.
